I modified the design using what I learned from another shawl pattern, Kællingesjal 1897. The Kællingesjal used the same lace design along the bottom, and Costumatty kindly shared instructions for making “mirror” lace. På det færdige sjal måler min halve kant omtrent 100 cm. Inklusiv midterbort og spidser måler en side i alt 130 cm. Jeg er ikke så stor og kan sagtens binde det på ryggen, men en tak eller to mere vil ikke have gjort skade. Processen med at strikke sjalet som fællesstrik, synes jeg har været alle tiders.
Til forskel fra det ældre korsklæde, som udelukkende var strikket i ret og med snore til at binde bag på ryggen, har dette sjal borter, som er forlængede og brugt som bindebånd. Vendsyssel Museum Lidt nyt - kællingesjal fra 1897. Så er der taget ca. 9 m stof af væven.
